The CBR Bantam "C" team struck pure Gold in Gander over the Easter Break.

CBR "C" went through the round robin undefeated and meet a very determined Avalon Celtic "C" team in the Championship Game of the All Newfoundland Bantam "G" Tournament.

Avalon held first and second period leads of 1-0 and 2-1. The Celtics scored on the first shift of the third and 2 minutes later increased their lead to 4-1.

Avalon Celtic fans were raising the roof with cheers of Go Celtics Go.

The Renegade players were not to be out done and started their own little cheer on the bench of Go Renegades Go. Slowly the momentum started to change as Greg Beaumaster added his second of the game in the ninth minute of the third. Four minutes later Phil Corbett netted a goal which brought the bench to it's feet. A minute later nifty Adam Scott poked in a loose puck, the Renegades had stormed back to tie the game. A Renegades time out allowed the excitement to settle and a chance to remind the players not to give up a chance on the next face-off. The game continued on and overtime looked evitable. That was until speedy Greg Beaumaster grab a loose puck a headed up the ice, Greg fired a high hard shot from the top of the circle which sent the Renegade fans into hysteria, hats littered the ice. The Renegades were ahead 5-4 with 26.8 seconds remaining. The Renegades contained the Celtics for the last few seconds and went on to receive the Gold Medal.

What a game, what a comeback, what a team!

Members of the Gold Medal winning team are:

Damien White, Steven Powell, Jesse Bickford(Player of the Game), Mike Reid, Brandon Woodford, Kyle Spencer, Nick Crocker, Mitch King, Justin Broderick, David Haines, Philip Corbett, Jorden Penney, Garrett Cullen, Jorden Delouche, Shane Tobin, Zack Parsons, Jonathan Hand, Adam Scott, Greg Beaumaster, Josh Cole, Coaching Staff, Bill Woodford, Kevin Tobin, Jeff Haines and team manager Keith Crocker
