The CBR Peewee A Team has returned home with a Gold Medal from the 2010 NL Winter Games in Grand Falls-Windsor. Representing the Avalon Region, the Team opened their medal campaign with three wins and only one loss in a close match with the Western Region Corner Brook Royals. Their tournament record earned CBR a berth in the Gold Medal Game and a re-match with their Western Region rivals and, if their first match was any indication, the Gold Medal game would be a hard fought, exciting event. Both teams would not disappoint, as fans were treated to five periods of extraordinary play before CBR’s Isaac Trask would find the back of Royals net with 6:41 left in the second overtime period ending the deadlock with a 3 – 2 win giving CBR the Gold Medal. Both teams should be congratulated for their fine play. The Bronze Medal went to Mount Pearl/South Region, Mount Pearl Blades. Members of the Gold Medal team included; Jared Andrews, Riley Baggs, Andrew Barron, Gregory Coates, Bradley Connors, Nicholas David, Evan Davies, Blake Fudge, Tyler Hennessey, Shannon Hynes, Nicholas Parker, Nicholas Percy, Philip Remillard, Nathan Rowe, Isaac Trask, Tyler Wall and Jeremy Walsh. Coaching staff includes: Head Coach - Paul Connors, Assistant Coaches - Trevor Rowe, Adam Gear, and Jarrett Morgan, Athletic Trainer Jeff Ryan, Staff Derek Baggs and Manager Steve Percy. |
